About Filomena
Filomena Jack offers a diverse range of creative services that cater to various needs and occasions. Specializing in murals, event illustrations, children’s book illustrations, and quirky pet portraits, her work stands out for its whimsical and personalized touch. The artist holds a BFA from Jersey City University and is often taking classes to widen her skill set. Filomena's artistic journey is complemented by her experience as a corporate software trainer in NYC. This unique background has allowed her to integrate creativity into teaching, enriching the learning experience for her audiences.
Filomena has produced a number of solo fine art exhibits at galleries in NY and PA. She also teaches creative classes at local libraries and community centers, further fostering a love for the arts. Her self-published art book, "Bunzie’s Bundalas," is available on Amazon, adding another layer to her artistic repertoire.
In addition to her illustration work, Filomena is passionate about sewing, operating her studio, The Elmira Atelier (T.E.A.), where she creates bespoke clothing pieces. Her focus on upcycled fabrics aligns with her commitment to a zero waste philosophy, reflecting a conscientious approach to art and fashion.
Living in Elmira with her husband, a rescue dog, and a couple of adopted budgies, Filomena values community involvement. As a board member of the Elmira Public Art Commission, she contributes to public art initiatives and remains available for live sketching at weddings and other events, capturing special moments in a unique way.
